Request a Rural Health Clinic

Rural Health Clinics are free preventive health screenings and health education brought to rural communities on the Olympic Peninsula through our Rural Health Transformation partnership with Aging & Adult Services of Coastal Washington (AASCW).

These events are funded by the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program. This federal program, run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), helps states improve access to healthcare in rural areas. Washington received about $181 million for the first year. The state is using the money to bring care closer to where rural residents live, invest in telehealth and technology, and support rural health workers.

  • DSHS (Washington State Department of Social and Health Services) helped build and runs Washington’s RHT plan, together with the Health Care Authority and the Department of Health, on behalf of the Governor’s Office.
  • AASCW (Aging & Adult Services of Coastal Washington), formerly the Olympic Area Agency on Aging, is a regional agency serving Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson and Pacific Counties. It works with DSHS’s Aging and Long-Term Support Administration. AASCW is the regional partner running this RHT project, and it selected Bird’s Eye Medical to deliver these mobile events.

Tribal sites need an invitation from tribal leadership. Rural clinic dates are coordinated with other state mobile health programs in your area.
